Anybody else use these monitors?
if so do you use them with another pair of monitors?
thinking about getting another set of monitors for the more higher frequencies in the mix.
thanks in advance for any feedback! |

For the same price you can get a pair of ADAM A5s which are a much better name than Yamaha in the *modern* studio monitor market. Yamaha is just trying to feed off the unexpected success of the NS-10s which the HS-80s are hardly like. |

Why not sell them and buy a single set of monitors which will actually work, rather than two which only half work? |

Do you have any cans? I've got the HS80M's paired with my AKG 701's for referencing and I've been very pleased with the results. The 701's are traditionally known as running a little hot on the high frequencies, so I push my higher frequencies to the brink on those, then I turn around and clean out the middle and push the bass hard on the lower ends. Reference again through the AKG's to make sure there is no distortion. Little bit of this, little bit of that. Bam, done. |
