Any more impressions?

How do the sounds sit and cut through the mix?

Think i'll be getting this in a few weeks, hopefully a patch of any fixes it might need is done by then.

Same question as above...

Any more impressions from anybody? Very close to pulling the trigger on this one.

I think I just missed delivery of Trillian today (I wasnt home). It was on backorder quite a while due to distribution problems :(. Maybe they'll come by again tomorrow and I'll finally have it :D.

Haven't you guys checked out the demo movies? They only touch such a small surface of what it offers and that is already amazing imo. :)

i have no doubt its a rad synth. my biggest concern is stability and work flow. i got burnt on waldorf's largo and i am not making that mistake again

the company has been very stable on the pc end(all of their products). There is no reason to suspect that this product won't be.

Sweet mother of God, I just watched the 4 videos. Woooooooooooooow!
I'm sold, I don't even need a hands on session or demo. I know how amazing Omnisphere is so I had no doubt Spectrasonics would deliver a great product but this is just fantastic!

Anyone else get goosebumps when they layered it into Omni with the Sitar patch?

This thing is huge. I'm going to head down to the shops next week and grab it. The reason why I'm actually going into the store though is because they have a Nord Lead 2x on display so I want to play around :tongue3

On a somewhat related note, I want to learn how to play the piano like Eric Persing. He makes it look so damn easy.

Well i got all 3 Spectrasonics stuff deliverd a couple of weeks back and i have to say they are excellent.

I am using the most up to date versions of them on a complete 65bit system (windows 7) with no issues whatsoever.

DJ - have you updated your Trillian as i have well over 100 presets just for the Trilogy part of it and god knows how many presets for the rest although i have to say until i updated to the current version i didn't have many synth basses, now i have plenty :) over 1200 to be precise although i dont see Deep & Warm like you mentioned.

The way that Stylus RMX, Omnisphere and Trillian can all be groove locked together by using the midi file from Stylus is just plain genius.

All 3 synths are solid on my 64bit system and the work flow is so easy to follow/use its ridiculous.

What's the CPU usage like using all 3 together ?
SoundMagus
Well the problems i am having at the minute is ASIO usage.

I am running my RME 800 at 512 sample buffer which equates to 12.630 Input latency and 13.787 Output latency and my ASIO is crapping out on me but this is more to do with the effects i am using.

If i turn off everything on the track i am creating at the minute apart from the Spectrasonics stuff this is the results.

Stylus RMX - 1 instance using 3 outputs (so 3 different stylus in effect) with no effects
Omnisphere - 1 Instance with all 8 outputs running (so in effect 8 Omnispheres) all except 1 of the 8 with effects on.
Trillian - 1 instance running 3 outputs (so in effect 3 Trillians) all running effects.

My system is Windows 7, cubase 5.1 64bit and the plugins are 64bit version. I am running a laptop at I7 CPU Q720 @ 1.6ghz (8 cores) and 4gb 1333mhz Ram.

The CPU is 15-20% (remember there are also high end re-verbs and delays being used on multiple channels as inserts, sends and group effects)

Using about 2.8gb of ram in total.

So with just the Spectrasonics stuff using multiple outputs on all 3 (14 outputs) its minimal considering what i am running.

With all the other effects off, the system ASIO (in cubase) doesn't go above 35% however when i turn on things like Rob Papen RP-Verb that alone uses more ASIO than everything else combined :O

So all in all the spectrasonics stuff is very lite on the system.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Nice and thorough reply, cheers :D

That is pretty light on the CPU to be honest, I was expecting a lot more than that. How many of the 8 channels in Omnisphere were using synthesis as opposed to samples ?

SoundMagus
In Omnisphere its 5 samples 3 synthesis but even the sample ones have been changed a lot.

it's more about RAM then CPU with trilogy. I'm on a 4gig system and ran out of memory with a decent size project and 4 instances of trilian.

@soundmagnus i did download the patches but been stuck on a deadline this week so haven't had the ability to install it yet, def will today :) in regards to your buffer that's just too low... you're drivers won't process the audio in-n-out of RAM fast enough
