Another thing on most surveys/polls: its total absolute magnificient bull
CNN so cleverly dropped a poll 2-3 weeks ago on the current state of the economy, is it getting better or not, 62% said it is, hey thats great!
"So you guys surveyed economists and financial analysts right?"
"Nope"

Nice tool to make look good and also to lie/hide details and they are to be taken lightly most of the time. If its to know eating habits of a population, great, artist you like the most like the dj mag poll, sure, but as a quality indicator or to qualify the real state of a situation or something, not so much.
Being popular doesnt necessarily mean you're the best (example: Beckham), there's no doubt armin works to gain and maintain that level of success and has a sound that reaches to a lot of people, a more "abordable sound" (compared to minimal for extreme example), but there's a crap load of stuff to consider: the complexity of the music, musical research, influences, does he try to copy a sound that he knows will satisfy the masses or push the envelop a little bit and goes for something a bit more experimental? With that said, i have absolutely nothing against Armin and rather see him on top of those polls then Tiesto.
