Vascotia, saying that Armin is acting like a sell-out dj is quite stating the obvious. It seems logical that he mainly supports producers/dj's with whom he somehow has a connection, be it label, upcoming gigs... in short some economic benefit.
If I were you and were convinced that I have tracks who are superior than the average ASOT-track (which doesn't seem to be the case looking at the opinions above), I would try to promote them with producers/dj's who actually allow good tracks to be played in theirs shows/gigs. Yeah, you might recieve less publicity that way, but if that's your main motivation I doubt you'll ever be able to write real quality music.
By doing everything you can to get listed in the ASOT shows you are only contributing to the problem which you indicated, being Armin's influence on public exposure of tracks. |
If i were interested in getting playlisted in ASOT, i would have done something different than writhing a thread about it. Then i would prolly have copied some asot artist, and tried everything to get armins attention, and thats not who I am. Thats why I have nothing more to loose by writing this thread, cause hes not playing my tracks either way is he? Im just stating that it doesnt lead to any good to be a sell-out wether you are a DJ or a producer. Every DJ and producer should stick to what they love, no matter how benefitial it is. Sadly its not the case anymore. |

no he is not acting like a sell-out, he is a sell-out, like everyone else in the world who wants to make money. cant see why that frustrates you. and u have no idea why he didnt play your track, but probably one of these two reasons or both: it sucks, he never heard it. armin isnt an ass he just dont have time for listening to tracks that might not fit his show. so he go safe, i bet he can dj most of the tracks he play without even listening to it first because their all the same. u can do a couple of things: make better music, dont care about what djs plays what, stop being a crybaby. |

| DJ's just play what they want so they are doing their job, its our job to keep searching for new DJ's playing exactly what you want to hear, ETN.FM is a great source for listening to lots of different DJ's and I will just download the sets of the ones I like. |
