Here is another producer you're going to hear a lot more of in the next 12 months. Already a prolific name on the Hard Dance scene under his Guyver alias, Guy Mearns flexes his slower, uplifting side with the vibrant cut 'Impulses'.
The Original Mix is a wonderful vision into Guy's uplifting sounds with a cool main lead and a tough, driving groove. This track really does mean business!
Keeping the melody in place but adding a progressive, techy vibe is Eddie Sender with a stuttering dancefloor bomb that is groovy as hell. After his 'Ultra Violet' cut on nu-depth digital we welcome back Sean Truby who adds a more energetic, uplifting touch with a killer electro based drop. Last but not least is another artist who will soon be joining the nu-depth ranks with his debut release on the label. Stuart James adds a soft uplifting feel with some great piano stabs that really does give the track a warm, lush feel to keep those summer nights here for a bit longer!
Review
Right off the bat I need to say how much of a fan of Guys work I am! He is easily one of the most consistent & surprising producers in the business. With that said this track delivers what I already expected!
The Original mix is easily one of the best songs I have heard all year. It carries hes signature old-school yet very uplifting sound. I cannot describe to you how beautiful and effective the simple melody is but this is a must hear if you are a fan of any of his previous work!
Russian Eddie Sender delivers a surprise cut for the label. Not a name usually seen with this type of sound, Eddie really does quite a number on the tune! It reminds me alot of the old Push / M.I.K.E. sound, really keeps the excellent melody intact and makes me wonder what the package will deliver next.
Wonderboy Sean Truby steps up to the plate and adds even more energy to the song. This remix really reminds me of Onova's work, very powerful and to the point! A great vibe is kept running through the song up to the break which transforms the song into a beautiful bass driven monster. Fantastic remix once again from the kid who has a hell of a future ahead of him!
Last on the bill is label resident Stuart James. Alot of people will remember him from the remix he did of Airborne Angel earlier in the year for the label. I was a huge fan of that remix and the same is said here. He uses his laidback yet gorgeous pads to full effect in the break and once the main melody kicks in again its pure euphoria!
Verdict
9/10
One of the best releases on the label all year from one of the stars of the future! All mixes deliver an exciting package.
