I'd say you got a hell of a bargain. I payed $2,100 for mine.

the price tends to drop when every person on the planet has the same synth.

You didn't meet the reserve - did the buyer sell it to you at that price anyway?

Also, you were pretty adamant a few months ago that definitely did NOT want a Virus - what changed your mind?

edit: not trying to rain on your parade, but I buy/sell a LOT on eBay and one thing I just noticed is that the seller only has 2 transactions and both are as a buyer, not a seller. If it was me, I would've passed on buying a damaged (chipped wood side panels) $1000 synth from someone with no eBay sales. But, then again, sometimes that risk/reward pays off in your favor big-time - hopefully that's the case here.

I'd say the price drop for the first-generation TI's is more related to the release of the TI2s. $960 shipped is still a great deal.

If that is the the last time you checked out a Virus, you may want to take another look. A LOT has changed. As a former Virus B owner for 10 years, I felt that it didn't have much to offer anymore, then I checked one out at GC and was blown away.
