Love that track. I've always said that if I had to pick one track to be played at my funeral, that would be it. It just suits the mood.

It's certainly not the greatest track I've ever heard but it did change my life. When I heard this, I just couldn't believe it. I never knew there was anything like this in the world (even though I was already really into house). It was amazing then, it's only "really good" now.

Trance definitely changed my life. I was 12/13 when I got into it, and it pretty much altered my way of thinking.
I have very fond memories of sitting in my room at night just thinking about stuff with trance on in my headphones, it was fantastic escapism. Akin to reading a good book, it let my mind walk around in it's world.
I need to do that more.
Gotta say trance sucks on a night out. For me it's always been a very personal kind of music. I don't wanna share it with wankers pilled up in a club.
I totally agree with you.
Trance is something I need to listen to on my own, I can't share the same visions/feelings/emotions with others that I feel when listening to these songs. It gave me the positive outlook that life was incredibly beautiful, and even more so because trance per se was simply amazing.
By the way, great track! I love PvD's work, especially For an Angel, and Connected.
And producers nowadays don't make these kind of tracks anymore. Sad, but that just makes our classics so much more better.

Yup, I agree with you totally also! It made me appreciate how beautiful lots of things can be, and it also made me far more aware of emotion, both my own and other people's.
This could have been just natural development also as I got into it when most people develop from kid > adult, but none the less I definitely think trance helped.
I know there are people who don't understand, and that's fine. In fact I prefer it. Trance and other music (always has to be melodic though) gives me such strength and has seen me through a lot of times, and has seen me through a lot of good.
Even my friend who is a die hard metal fan said he understands why I like trance because it's all different colours and textures, a lot of dance music built for the club forgoes all this in favour of earth moving bass and groove, again, this is fine. Because trance if for long drives at night, long journeys on the train, walking alone, sitting and contemplating, working on your thesis, etc. Not for jumping up and down to with people who don't care for it over any other music.
May I also recommend all this track. A thinking track, one to just sit with.

I wouldn't say that there were any specific "life changing" tracks... But, listening to trance in general did "change my life" in a sense, as it got me more and more interested in electronic music, which got me interested in production, which got me interested in DJing, which made me make different connections and decisions in the grand scheme of things.
I don't listen to trance nearly as much as I used to, but it definitely did at least nudge me in a particular direction. (I'm building a room specifically as a music studio now... who would've thought that would ever happen 10 years ago?)

Then I guess I can see myself as very lucky. I found a woman that I can share exactly those feelings you mentioned with. In fact, getting into Trance back in the days led me to marrying the most wonderfull woman possible! :D
