| Above and Beyond basically ruined the night after playing only a 2 and a half hour set. I mean i was expecting them to play til minimum 5 possibly 6 since it was halloween. Really disappointed with that. I mean no encore which was one of the lamest things ever. Had a great night but could of been a whole lot better with just even another hour of them. |

I know for a FACT that they played a section of "Sign of Times (Markus Schulz Remix)"... if any of you have the the song, listen to ~1:00-1:03.
They had that looped, but never got into the actual "song"... When I heard it i was going crazy...
But, i'd like to say once again that Fedde KILLED IT. Never had so much fun dancing... he had such great drops and the energy was out the roof! Does anyone have the TL of Fedde, or know where I can find it? |

i'm pretty sure it's roseland ballroom that prevented above & beyond from playing any longer. the crowd was fairly annoying at first, i thought to myself this was probably the most annoyed/uncomfortable i've ever been. but after readjusting through the crowd a few times it wasn't so bad.
and i knew i wasnt hallucinating and definitely heard sign of the times somewhere in there. lol.
and as for the wings thing, JBar, those things are a lot harder to maneuver with than i thought. i had a pair on for like 3 minutes, jokingly, and couldn't avoid smacking those around me with them to save my life. |

yeah - i really don't think it was up to above and beyond to just stop playing. If you don't know the facts, don't go accusing them of shutting down early as if it were their fault.
I got there SUPER late but I had a good time. Above and Beyond played good for their style. No one is really expecting them to bang it out or anything.
Glad they didn't play many vocals.
Everyone who dressed up looked super cute.
The fuked up section on the left side of the stage smelled like Pepperoni Pizza when I was leaving - don't ask. :wtf: |

I'm not sure what song this is. But i can assure you it was not Sign of the Times.
About 3 releases came out later summer early fall that share the SAME exact bassline in the SAME exact key as Sign of the Times. I'm not sure who's ripping who off but, ya know?
Here's an example:

Def wasn't this track last night though. I have absolutly heard last night's track before. Just don't know where. Prob TATW.
Anyway my thoughts on last night:
Super good time. Fedde had some awesome transitions. Sound is amazing as always. A&B played a good set. I dug it alot. I really can't complain. Tony was really nice meeting him as well despite being sick. Hope he feels better. |

I was at Paco so I can't really comment on the set, but in A&B's defense it's pretty much entirely up to the promoter / club who decides how long their set will be, when the show ends or if they even get to play an encore. I'm always surprised when they won't allow atleast one more song, but the reality is that once the bar closes there's no more money coming in and every minute they're losing on security costs. Lame I know, but unfortunately it's the way things are..
Glad to hear Zack and Fedde rocked though! :) |

i think everyone is talking about the minute mark of k&a - grrreat because i was sober and don't remember sign of the times even being looped. |

I remember the bass line for sure. Sober as well. Probably that track i've heard before. Most likely wouldn't have been looped. I mean for all we know it could have been a mash up or something. Most likely not. Sick bass line for sure though. Gets everyone moving.
However, it was def in the same key. I wish i knew what track it was lol, its like in the back of my head somewhere. |

Grrreat was played a few songs before I heard Sign of Times... I made sure I made a note of it, because I knew it'd come up here lol. But I could be wrong. I definately know the difference between those two songs though. |

thats exactly why I said the "boo-ing" was totally uncalled for. I was pissed off, too, but I also heard rumors that Tony was very ill, that the promoters shut it down, that A&B were only paid for 2 hours, etc etc.....who to believe?
and who really cares? Why try to dissect who to blame, because rumors are just that. The point of the matter is that it sucks, but we cant take back last night, so I guess we will just have to get over it! Hopefully, whoever DID shut it down so early will just see the complaints and adjust for future shows.....Thats all we can really ask. |

I thought Zack had the best set of the night -- he absolutely killed it. I thought Fedde's set was really good. A&B almost lost me in the first third of their set...I wasn't really feeling it, and the people around me weren't either. I think A&B did a nice job of bringing up the energy level in their set, and the second half of the set just flew by.
The booing only started after Roseland turned on the lights, which was after several minutes of the crowd cheering after A&B's set. So, I can't believe that A&B would take that personally.
Oh yeah, I'm all for Made making all their events 21+...the teenagers were killing me. |
