Approachable record labels

Might not be producing-related but I'm surprised I haven't seen this discussed yet

Those of you signed to labels or who've had releases through them, where did you start sending your tracks to? The only labels I really know about are ones like Anjuna or Armada which would be a waste of my time to send my music to, I'm looking for relatively smaller labels that'd be more receptive to artists without any releases under their belts yet.

What labels would you guys recommend looking into?

What genre of music are you making?
Kysora
Right, that probably would have been worth mentioning, sorry. Mostly uplifting trance

Go to Junodownload....Look under the genre your producing. Check out some of those labels MySpaces, releases, how long they've been around, etc. Find a way to inquire within from them (a place to send your demo) and then do it. Simple as that.

And never sell yourself short for any label. Don't care if it's Armada or Anjuna. I know it's easy as pie to submit demos to Anjuna so there is no reason not to. If you're worried about your "name" then just use an alias in the track (you would be able to re-name it later if you wanted)

release stuff yourself for free to the dj's and wait for a bigger label to come to you. or even better, a publisher who wants all yur music to submit to compilations. an approachable label for someone who feels they are not good enough for a big label is a desperate label with low standards and even lower credibility amongst those who receive their promo's.

If you're talking about me, I've sent music to the "big" labels and I haven't gotten any responses, so I'm looking for labels that might be a bit more responsive than the ones I've sent my music to.

I'm not looking for desperate labels with low standards, that's ridiculous, I'm just looking to widen the scope of labels that I can send my music to.

Don't listen to this guy. He's never walked in the shoes of either of the entities he thinks he knows so well.
