Sawer destroys Sylenth imho..

I've always been a fan of imageline synths and have been trying out the demo for a few days now, I was so amazed by the sound quality of this synth I wound up buying it. (very affordable)

The ONLY common complaint I was reading was about the presets only being available online (which means you have to have il downloader open to browse presets which becomes very aggravating). The second I found out this wasn't true (you can just install the presets directly into the synths folder) I gave in.

I am extremely happy I got this synth, the bass sounds are so deep and rich, thick and phat sounding. The leads are soaring and hot, very thick and really seem to cut through a mix better then any synth I've used before. The plucks are pristine and clear almost like a nord. If anyone has got around to using it please post your opinion.

I suggest you at least try it out, the interface is simple enough for me to understand and I love it. I was reading the article where they said they had made a "mistake" in the coding which wound up accounting for its astounding sound quality. Thinking this was just some bs sales pitch after giving the synth a fair try I believe every word of it now. It has a certain character I am yet to find in any other synth out there, this will absolutely be my new number 1.

I'm working on an mp3 right now and I'll be getting it up so you guys can listen.

only $99

Do yourself a favor and at least check out the demo, I rarely recommend synths around here and this one just sounds different then 99% of the crap out there imo.

destroy is a pretty strong word.

I know lol, I'm still working on a demo to show you guys, trying to get a little of everything in it.

Then I'll let you guys be the judge. =]

Yeah it's a great (and much underrated) synth. Destroy Sylenth however, is stretching it a bit don't you think? :) I mean, it only has a saw oscillator for one thing :) (and also noise if you wanna be anal about it).

It doesn't do much, but what it does (sawish basses) it does extremely well. tbh I'm getting a bit tired of the sylenth sound. The filters aren't even that great. Sure the first time you hear them you're like 'wow', but after a while they start to sound (to me at least) kinda metallic. They don't sound much analog to me, at all. For example, open the very first preset (303) and play with the cutoff for some time and you'll hear what I mean.
The other big downside of sylenth is (IMO) that the detuning sounds too harsh. AFAI remember Sawer has a fantastic unison mode, and (i.e.) Vanguard has the very nice 'fat' mode. Then there are the weak effects in sylenth... But overall it's a much more powerful synth.

Anyway, I'd say put some more oscillators in that nigga, more waveforms, a simple eq, fm and more modulation possibilities and we have a winner.

Sylenth is overrated imo. :o

Virus TI is also overrated, but that doesnt mean its not great.

Had not heard of Sawer before. Checked it out. I like the layout and it sounds pretty nice. Thanks or bringing it to light.

The sync freq , the sub osc features , all this really makes Sawer a really powerful synth.
Really great for creating mid basses , I guess.

the lack of oscillators make this a one trick poney.

Why should there be oscillators , afterall this is a sawtooth-based synth.
