Just stumbled across this while searching for an answer to my Ableton question in another thread:

It's all over the web, but not on the Ableton website.

Here's a link I found over on KVR with a screenshot:

www.ableton.com UPDATED!

Max for Live will be available on November 23rd, 2009. It will cost USD 299/EUR 249. If you already own Max 5, the discounted price is USD 99/EUR 79

Looks cool for someone who wants to maybe try it out, use Live solely as a rewire slave, or maybe just doesnt need as many of the features Live comes with. Looks to be more geared towards stable real-time performance use than producing.

I wonder if there will be project file compatibility issues between Intro and 8.

Awesome, been hoping for an update as I wanted to pick up a copy of Ableton for my new macbook pro.

There are details about about this on the Ableton website now. There appears to be Ableton Love Intro and a new Live Lite 8. Can't really see much difference between them. Would like to know if any major diff between the old 7 LE and the new 8 Intro.

No external instruments. FAIL.

I guess this is OK for people out there who want a cheap DJ solution regarding Ableton. And in that respect the price is competitive.

Most Djs are using racks, thats half the point of ableton, so you can set up interesting effects. Ableton intro doesn't have racks. FAIL.
