Hey Socal trance addicts (and everyone else of course :)
I just signed up for the forum so I thought I would introduce myself. I am Misha Silin, 22 yrs old, just graduated UCLA. Although a lot of my friends enjoy dance music, most of them don't like trance, which is lame. I am here to talk to people who do so I don't feel like a red herring. Of course I like David Guetta etc. etc. but my main passion is trance.
I love trance and have been a fan for a few years now. Initially I got into it through Tiesto but now am a fan of the whole genre. These days I enjoy tech trance a-la Sander van Doorn the most but I also enjoy the stuff on ASOT and GDJB as well as some house and progressive stuff.
I've been to a bunch of the massive events - TAO, EDC, MM, as well as Circus Vanguard and Avalon. Currently on my calendar are Tiesto in November and HULA in December! I hope to head out to Circus more often once I move back to West LA in a couple of months but unfortunately none of my friends are huge trance fans so I will most likely be convincing my gf to go with me.
I also wanted to give back to the dance community in LA so my friend Rob and I started a blog called LA Beat Connection. Right now we're just writing whatever we feel, Rob's way more eclectic than I am; I mostly write about trance and house, he expands into minimal, techno, breaks, whatever.
I'm not just here to promote my site, don't worry, but you guys can always feel free to give me feedback on it or if you wanna contribute in any way there are definitely opportunities.
Also I'm a bedroom DJ, my mixes can be found on our blog (dj name Slava). I've DJed a few parties at UCLA and at the bar nearby but nothing more; I hope to play at some LA events in the future once I figure out how to promote myself. Please check out my mixes if you get a sec and let me know what you think.
Anyway that's a little about me; look forward to getting involved and finally talking to people who like the music I do. |

Welcome to TA, Misha! I'm sure you'll find this place quite entertaining, at times like a giant vortex that sucks you in and there's no going back...I still love it though!
