Indeed! Congrats David. You've done a great job.

The only things I don't in those pics are the speakers flat mounted on the desk, the fact they are not in front of the chair/either side of the screen and that there's no rug on the floor behind your chair (but it doesn't look completely finished in fairness).

Thanks :)

I plan on putting a rug down and fixing the flat-mounted speaker situation. As far as the actual location of the speakers, I put them there thinking they would be better placement in the room itself. I might move them though. I basically tossed all that stuff on the desk today because I was anxious to actually have a working setup for once, lol.

That's gonna be a kiler studio when it's done! The piano is a nice touch. ;)

That little piano is great. I've had it for close to 20 years (holy , I never realized that until just this moment) and I've had it tuned a handful of times (when I've moved), but it hardly ever even needs it. It always sounds really good, even when moving locations or putting it in different environments (like a basement, for example).

I kinda want to refinish it, but I'm a little nervous to take on that project. :)

I may have missed something here like I dunno maybe you have a second pair of monitors going to be either side of your screens, but if not, why on gods earth are your speakers where they are?!?

He wants them equally spaced around the mic, so as he records with it he can also play the sound back, creating a feedback loop and killer distortion.

Maybe so for placement in the room. But how about placement of your head?

Are you really going to spend all off your time mixing down without looking at the screens?

Looks awesome btw, I just couldn't understand the reasoning. No hate here! :D

It's a fair point. Like I said, I just tossed them up, made sure everything still worked, and then snapped a pic.

I should clarify, I hadn't used that computer or audio interface for like a year as I was building this room. Since then, I had upgraded to Windows 7, tossed some more RAM in, but never tested to make sure I could still get sound. (As it turns out, I couldn't... I had to go through quite the run-around to get sound again!)

Is that an Atari ST?

No the Atari ST didn't have darker coloured function keys - the amiga 500 did but they are not spaced like that either so I think it's probably just an after market PC keyboard.

It's actually a Commodore 128 :)
