I chopped a snake on the front porch with a shovel once. I was surprised at how much red blood came out. Sounds stupid but I never really thought about snakes having red blood |

Did you just find it's skin? I came very close to stepping on a brown snake that I couldn't see out in the scrub a while back. Gives you shivers up your spine like you wouldn't believe. |

yeah. just the skin. i mean it's winter now. i dunno what snakes do during the winter but i never see them around... do snakes hibernate?
i live in a pretty wooded area. see about 3-5 snakes every year. but never quite that big. i mean this bitch must've been 3-4 ft. long. and i found it in my garage... no idea how it got in there. we took everything out and looked around - every nook and cranny. didn't find it.
i remember seeing a special on discovery that when they shed their skin it's their weakest moment or whatever. so they seek a secluded spot to do it... however it's usually within their "dwelling" so maybe it's still there...
biggest i've seen so far was about 2 ft. last summer. i was on my deck reading a book and saw something moving around about 5 feet away. this thing was crawling towards me! i grabbed a shovel and cut the ******'s head off. |

i still think it would be better to have one snake than numerous mice.

Only thing in the world that scares me less. I would move somewhere else if I were you. Like Alaska. |
