After giving this question a bit of thought I've come to the conclusion that it really depends on the medium I'm playing from. I find I can pitch shift all the way to +/-8% playing off vinyl without any loss in audio quality.
Playing digital files I find timestretching and pitch shifting too far (over +/-10% or more in tempo or 2 semitones in pitch) gives really noticeable artifacts and degradation in the sound so I try to stay away from doing that.
That said this mix was recorded in Ableton even though a few of these tunes were ripped from vinyls.

One more reason for me to stay with mixing vinyls. :D

I just bump this one for being really a sweet set. :D

Thanks mate, glad you really like it.:)
I've been getting right back into spinning wax lately too so I think the next set I post will be 100% vinyl. But I dunno wtf it's gonna be style wise just yet. Stay tuned!:D

Hadn't see this. Downloading now.

Trance isn't my gig these days but it's nice to see big hitters I used to love like Adrenaline and Voices from the Inside. I'm downloading now and will let you know when I'm done listening.

Thanks for the mix!

No worries. I kinda feel the same way when it comes to trance these days. Really bugger all coming out that appeals to me, majority of these tracks are from 2001-2005. I had a few requests from some friends to make another trance mix and i had enough faves that I haven't really used for any recorded sets yet which have made a good follow up to the last trance mix I made back in late 07. Thanks for again for listening and hope you like.:)

Alright well I finally had a chance to listen the whole way through and this really was a fantastic mix! Thanks so much for the music!

I actually haven't come across a Trance set that held me attention in a while so I'm quite happy with this one and there are some truly great tracks. I particularly liked Sjamaan, the leads are really well produced and the overall vibe is killer.

The mixes were flawless and the flow of your set had a precision that lends itself to a very sophisticated style of mixing.

Thanks again, will be listening to this again when I drive from Boston to NYC today!

Wow, that's some pretty high praise. Sjamaan is an awesome track with all the detail and qualities that so much trance today seems to lack, hard to find tunes as good as that. Thanks a lot for your feedback and am glad ur enjoying it.:)

I more or less agree with this. This kind of music doesn't really float my boat that much these days, but a few tracks caught my attention. What's the prog trancer at the 35 minute mark? Voices From The Inside is a ing belter too; I might go and pull out my copy now. The mix into that was particularly good and a really great way to end the set.

Mixing and flow were spot on (I knew this would be the case before I listened). Great work mate. I love how many different styles I've been hearing from you. Tech-house, schranz, trance, psy-trance. You manage to play all of these quite well. Got any gigs up there in Brisbane?

Cheers again for listening and your feedback mate. The track you're refering to is Mind Games by Oliver Prime, wicked trancer imo and probably my favourite tune I've heard from him. I really just love most of M.I.K.E.'s work.
I've never been one to stick to playing any one particular genre or sub-genre of EDM. Keeping open to playing different styles keeps my interest and excitement for playing and makes me feel like it's always a breath of fresh air to come back to a style I haven't played for a while. I tend to get bored of tunes quickly if I play them too often (even the tunes I love) and this way gives me a break from the same sounds and styles.
The downside to all this though is that I can't really identify myself with a particular sound or style which in turn makes getting gigs a bit more difficult as promoters aren't sure what to expect when they see such diversity with my sets. I haven't really been pushing for gigs over the last year or so and haven't played out anywhere since moving up here from Vic. I think I'll try getting out a bit more next year and see where that leads to.
