I think I was the first one to have internet at my high school, it was on a 14.4! :p

The idea of a site where would you type in whatever you were looking for and find it was amazing at that time.

Heh, same here; 1995 on my brand new Pentium 1... relatives complaining that the phone lines were always busy :p
KilldaDJ
hotmail.com, mp3.com or something like that

it was either lycos or altavista... whatever was the homepage for that horrible dial-up we first got in high school. in freaking Netscape 1.0.

and i remember PowWow. i used it all the time until mIRC came around :)

It would have been 1994'ish and I am pretty sure it was either ICQ (to download it) or Napster. I know I frequented a website that was a visual chat room type thing. Something palace I think... Avpalace? I dunno, you had a little avatar character and would go to 'rooms' where the actual site was a picture of some room and a bunch of people would 'stand around' and chat.

I *STILL* have the very first e-mail address I created and I still use it (but I consider it my junk e-mail that I don't mind giving out).

Can't remember what my chat names were...

I am so glad that the internet isn't dial up anymore. I used to hate it sooo much when I would get booted off the net whenever we got a phone call, or it would take an hour to get connected around 4pm.

Yay for fast internet :D

I remember going into a chat room some time around 1997 and someone kept saying 'lol'. I thought it was some kind of esoteric insult, as in: "you're a lol."

i thought it meant "lots of love"

Might have altavista.com or it could have been the official arsenal website or prodigy website. Don't remember really, could be something completely else.
Ivand
supercars.net or something like it, I saw it in a child's magazine in a paper like 10-13 years ago. It said you could get pictures of cars :O
