Need info on best Ski restort/lodging around NYC

I will be in NYC soon & am lookin for skiing/snowboarding options...
I dont want to be too far from NYC but Ive heard Penn & upstate NY might be some good options? Does anyone know the BEST ski lodge around the area? Or have experience with one that I can consider?

| Mountain Creek in NJ I would say would be the best choice. Maybe 2 hour drive. What time of year are you going? Most are not making snow yet, and unless you go to Vermont nothing will be open until the temps drop |

gore mountain, but its 3.5 hours away
its infinitely better than any of the more local mountains. |

| Up in the Poconos we have Camelback and Shawnee, personally i like Camelback alot. Its a pretty decent Mountain. |

most of my friends who ski go to Hunter/Windham Mountain (~2hrs north on teh Thruway)...
SLOPES ftw!!!! :stongue:

| best mtn imo would be Mt Snow in southern Vermont. About 3.5 hours away from nyc |

| Killington is def worth the 4.5- 5 hour drive. Got my season pass and will be riding what ever is open this weekend and pretty much every weekend till march! |
