Listening now. Impending Darkness was pretty interesting, it was like downtempo darkpsy. I enjoyed the track at 15 minutes, and some of the more night full-on tracks in the middle. At 60 minutes you toss the tempo up by 12 BPM! The first track of the evil set didn't do it for me, but the one at around 70 minutes was really cool, lots of crazy bleeps and bloops. You start really playing with your track selection afterwards, there is some pretty intense stuff in this section. I'm tripping pretty hard on this area at 99 minutes. Holy , the tempo is starting to lose control here at 106 min, I will be a real champion if I can make it through this crazy . Jesus Christ, we are into some serious horror at 112, the screams and the pads and the ing brain drilling synths are crazy. The following track wasn't a good one for me, I didn't dig it, but 123 minutes appears to be something that I've never heard before. At 127 minutes I'm not really enjoying this synth. It's annoying, not trippy :( Now we're blasting some speedcore at 130 minutes, I'm afraid it's stop being so dark, and more acid trance on speed. it was an interesting way to end the set with super speedy psy, but with an eerie morning feel.
You have pushed this genre to a level that I was a little afraid of, and still am, but I enjoy it in a weird way. The tempo became so high that I was afraid the computer's brain was going to rupture. I'm sure if you played this at a party, you would have some dead bodies after the set was over.
Mixing on the whole was relatively decent, there were a few hokey transitions, a couple where the beatmatching wasn't on, 86 min in particular, but I know first hand how darkpsy can be a little painful to mix.
I'm wondering if you ever listened to my most recent dark set. I never got quite to the level you reached at 120ish minutes, that was out of this world, but I managed to play a few tracks in there that felt like your brain was put in a blender. Please let me know if you do, I feel weird knowing that only 3-4 people on this whole forum can even stand darkpsy and I would love it if you listened :p

Well, the first half wasn't mind melting as I was expecting, but overall pretty damn good. The first half was reasonable but not terribly dark, with some interesting tracks, but the second half was some pretty damn good psycore. Especially concidering how crappy and simple a lot of it is. This was quite a good mix.
I dunno what zipnitf was worried about, it wasn't terribly inacessable. Compared to say Multiple personalities 3 for instance. |

I have spun a darkpsy set, I realize the boundaries that this genre tries to push. ;)
I liked his set, Altered-Mind is absolutely off his rocker! :p I didn't say that psyheads couldn't enjoy it, I just can't see your average joe listening to this death/horror/brain 57536 BPM darkcore stuff for longer than 10 seconds. |

Heh I'm just saying as much as it was fast it wasn't terribly hard/facemelting (not to say it wasn't trippy though):P Wheras there's some darkpsy that's harder than death metal. |
