Still, I think that people base their tastes more on atmosphere and structure/complicatedness than anything.

interestingly enough the guy who claimed that techno came from european high nrg was *sort of* right... i didn't know that at the time. but it was still made by predominantly black musicians in detroit who occasionally got a hold of some european hi nrg, among many other things
