I'm looking for a/some good VST effects to make some "typical" progressive trance effects, so please tell me your recommendations.
I'm already down with synths and stuff so no VSTi recommendations please, only VST that process sound (effects).
I've been looking at Waves Audio bundles, is it any good? |

| You can pretty much make effects with any major VST... Just mess around with the filter cutoff, delay, distortion, LFO, reverb etc. on white noise/other wave forms, you can mix them too. You can get some cool results. I personally use z3ta+ for effects (I guess I use it for everything lol) but it's a good synth for making effects with. |

Thanks for your post.
So can z3ta+ modulate sound that doesn't originate from its own synth. Like if I was playing something on Sylenth1, you can't modulate that sound can you? Only z3ta+ presets? |

Like Floyd says, you could use the effects that come with your DAW. z3ta+ can only modulate the sounds that it creates. I know there are some synths (or some type of VSTs) that can modulate samples and such, but I have no idea what they are... maybe somebody has more knowledge on this. Most likely.
I wouldn't reccoment using presets to create your effects, I mean, you could tweak the presets... but it's much easier just to start with a blank patch, and figure interesting out yourself. More rewarding, and a great way to learn a synth inside-out as well. |

| My personal favs are warmverb and all the audio damage effects, cheap too! |

You could try CamelSpace, it has a nice sounding trancegate, and it's currently 50% off:

I've only briefly tried it, but if you're after "trance" effects, this plugin could be useful. The Waves effects are great (I really love the metaflanger, imager and delay) but couldn't be classified as "trance" effects, really. |

| I have a question myself, does anyone know where to get a free reverse reverb from? |

I don't know where to find one (someone else might), but I know it's super easy to do if you can reverse a track in any DAW and add reverb. Here's a video tutorial:
