You will most likely have to pay duty on anything you bring on Friday/Saturday.
Also, I wouldn't lie about the amount of the goods you are trying to bring over. You can screw yourself over pretty bad.

My guess its was "leaked" by the Retail Council of Canada.
It makes sense for them to spread the lies. Canadian retail outlets probably lose LOTS of money as a result of black Friday.
