| The opening DJ played some smooth progressive tunes and built nicely to an easy point for Mr. and Mrs. Smith to take over. Although Mrs. Smith seemed a little stiff at first it looked like she loosened up toward the middle of their set. Christopher Lawrence's transitions were really clean and his wife's not so bad. Looked like they were using a faderfox and ableton? Great track selection by them, awesome dirty electro. Dirty South came in with his remix of Leave The World Behind You to set the club off and proceeded with some bumpin progressive tunes followed by his usual SHM stuff...great night of music overall. |

was jam packed last night and no one really got in unless they paid for bottle service. most of the people there probably didn't even really know any of the artists. I think its just worth it to pay the $10 and avoid the BS in line.
and btw opening dj was my friend Ali Bamshad hes a young and upcoming dj but hes really good I heard his set was better than mr/mrs smith even though it was only warm up to the night |

got there at 1am from another club and there were several people trying to still get in. The door guy said they were at capacity and cant let anyone in, even though in about 5 minutes 10-15 people left the club. Then someone walks up to the door guy like they know him and lets them in with friends. Eventually i got in. Too bad the crowd sux too, nothing but persians who roll up in their leased bmws, benzs, and rovers.
Anyway, really disappointed with the way things are handled there. Guestlist line does not move at all as everyone who thinks they are somebody bunch up at the front and get in, while people in line could wait there all night. So really its not free as stated cause you likely wont get in, guess its their way of charging a cover by selling "express" tickets. what a joke. |

Its about supply and demand. As much as it sucks that people cant get in, more people are willing and able to pay to get in. They dont have to offer free entry at all, but they do. Obviously if this trend continues, they wont have to offer free entry due to demand. Maybe they should allow less RSVP free entry (and make sure they all get in), to mediate the issue of people standing in line and not getting in. Because they're turning those people off to the club by not letting them in, after giving them the idea they can get in. |

Sounds like code is not the place for you! I was there last night and had a blast for $10 ;))). Got my presale ticket and was in the club in less than 5 minutes. A great diverse crowd and a slamming dj lineup. I am not sure how you can complain. Try the ghetto club next door next time; maybe that is more your style than code where the other successful well to do people in OC hang and happen to pay for these nights. Wake up as we are all enjoying all the these djs for free because of them.
The other thing that I have also noticed is the club is alot more receptive to taking care of people that make an effort to look presentable; i.e. shower and wear clean clothes. |

Everyone leases cars you know? You think Persians dont have money to buy cars? They do decently nerdy in school, attain good jobs or are slick enough to get ahead at what they do, so they have plenty of money. People lease because they dont want to committ to one car for a long period. Car values drop tremendesously the minute they leave the lot. I'm not Persian, but the next car I have will be leased, even if I had the money to buy one outright. If you live in California and have an active lifestyle, and care to drive newer cars often, its smart to lease. |

Actually, we will always offer free entry at this venue. We do advanced express it because it is the only thing we can do to take care of people that are 100 percent committed to attend due to the nature of this venue. There is no box office at CODE and never will be. It is not permitted.
That being said, logic would tell anyone with the understanding that there will be nights with a lot of demand. If you don't buy express it or roll up at 1AM and expect to just prance in, your are going to be sorely disappointed on nights that have a big demand. See there is thing thing called space. You only have so much of it. Once you put 4 walls up in a given area, it defines the space and then you have a clear understanding of how many people can fit in that space. You do your best to fit as many people that have a desire to get in into that space, but ultimately, you will be told to stop letting bodies in by people who control the safety of these predetermined areas. They are otherwise known as Fire Marshall's. This is a pretty simple concept.
Additionally, when the space hits the maximum level and there are still people that have a desire to get in, inherently those individuals will most likely be in an area outside the venue with the continued desire to get in even though there are many people assisting in security telling them that the Fire Marshall has stated that no additional bodies shall enter. There will be some exceptions to this like those that have already purchased their space through bottle service or express it as the people controlling the flow of bodies have accounted for that persons rough mass and it is no issue letting them in based on that fact. Soundvisine has a clear understanding of this issue and was alert enough to buy Express It as well as many other people who got in no problem.
Sponger, I am sorry your experience was not optimal but perhaps a little bit of tact would have gone a long way in this case. |
