Alphazone tribute mix [hard trance]

ALPHAZONE
That's right kids, a tribute mix to the greatest hard trance act of all time. Fans of my usual output are advised to stay the away!

When it comes down to it, 99% of hard trance is . Complete . I had a couple of options here: make a very long mix using the 50 or so suitable tracks I have or do a Skywarp/Waterworld label tribute mix. However, considering that Alphazone have made so many good tracks, the choice was easy.
Most hard trance just sounds like softer hardstyle to me; it's all retardedly big kick drums, lead notes placed only on every beat rather than in between too, and a disturbing lack of effort made to include anything resembling a bass line or percussion. Alphazone's formula is/was simple: keep the drums tight, make the bass line thick and prevalent, add some good percussion and an epic melody. , does it work.
It may not be the most intelligent music in the world, but I keep coming back to listen to these tracks over and over. The genre may as well be renamed 'Alphazone trance', because unlike other styles where there will often be several leaders producing similar quality stuff, there is not a single hard trance producer I've ever come across that can even get close to the work of Alphazone.

While I agree, I've heard that song so many times that I probably prefer it left out. I'm going to give this set a listen when it comes up, but I'm already anticipating most stuff sounding quite similar to The Legacy. We'll see, I'm not too familiar with Alphazone outside of a couple of tracks. |

It's a tribute mix by me, not a ministry of sound compilation of 'most popular' tracks. I don't actually like The Leagacy as much as the other works I have included here. |

lol wow... i never though i'd see a mix like this in the TA forums. even more surprised to see it's from a person whos been providing my HD with quality prog mixes.
im guarenteed to put this on my mp3 player and go to the gym and up to this mix. |

Actually it has nothing to do with the fact that I like hardstyle. It's more to do with the fact that I think there are other producers of hard trance who equal Alphazone's level of quality.;) |
