[REVIEW] Rank 1 @ Voyeur SD 11/20/09

Just curious what (SD)TAs thought of Piet's set at Voyeur?? I only saw Scotty, Victor and Sharky (nice meeting you, Sharky!) so I don't know who else was there. I thought the set was quite typical Rank 1 set, fluff kept to a minimum. Just the way I like it! :) He played a couple of old, fluffy Rank 1 songs only because people requested them. My absolute favorite of the night was Dada Life - Let's Get Bleeped Tonight (Tiesto remix). It sounded so deliciously dirty in that sound system! :D I was quite shocked to find out it was Tiesto's remix because I've never been a Tiesto fan. Piet was very happy with the night. He kept comparing it with his past gigs at Belo and thought everything was better at Voyeur.
It was my first time at Voyeur and I thought the club was pretty decent but the dance floor was quite small and it was way too hot around the dancefloor/dj booth area, felt like the AC hadn't been turned on at all and I could smell some serious BO here and there. The dj booth is really tight so there's no room for any dj entourages :toothless I was pleasantly suprised that a lot of people at the club were there because of Rank 1 or EDM, not just to show off themselves like most people in Gaslamp clubs are. The place stayed crowded until the end (2am which is too early to close!) Btw, was Desiree one of the go-go dancers? I couldn't really see the go-go booths because of where I was standing but I thought I saw her upstairs in the VIP area at one point.
I have some crappy pics and a video clip from that night but I haven't uploaded them yet. Victor: I'll send you that one pic when I get a chance. And did you notice what a good girl I was on Friday? I didn't make anybody cry! (sorry Victor, I just had to) :tongue2 |

Epic night!
Place was packed, music by Piet and Sharky were incredible. Thank you all for coming down.
There were some guest list issues which I sincerely apologize for. The girl that usually handles the lists called in sick that night which created a lot of confusion so Scott and I stood out at the front with our lists to accommodate as much as we can. We know there were some that ended up paying and we are sorry for that. We did the best we could.

Our next one is December 11 with Cosmic Gate. These events continue to get more grand.
Andy Moor January 22 and just wait til you see who we have in store for the coming months after that. Some more top notch talent and a few top 10's thrown in there too :D
