Get "Around Me"... it starts from your location, no matter where you are, and tells you where the closest ATM, restaurant, bar, taxi, grocery store, hospital, hotel, etc. are.... touch your selection and it will call the number and/or GPS it for you on google maps (whichever you want).

Urban Spoon... great for restaurants (along with Zagat that someone else said).

Flixter for movies is another really well done app.

the google app where it searches by voice, so you don't have to type. Zillow is a good one for real estate; shows by map all the houses for sale in your area, including price, MLS details, and photos. There are a cuople good ones for doing conversions (currency, metric, etc.)....

Red Laser- this one turns your phone into a bar code scanner, and will read any bar code on any product in a store, then search the internet for the cheapest price available.

Uhhh... I got one called "Trapster" which shows all the police hideouts, live police, checkpoints, road blocks, etc... very handy if you're driving home after a few drinks ;)

The Ebay and Amazon apps are good. Mobile banking app (bank of america for me) is good. Pandora is great but what sucks is that you only get 6 song skips per hour. Try "Last FM"... that app has unlimited song skips and plays international music too. man there are so many....

feX is kinda fun. It synchs you phone with your facebook contacts (finds matching names and transfers pics/general info on to yu iphone).

I also like NYTimes, financial glossary, Paper Toss, Geared and Aardvark (sending out random questions when you're bored).

awesome awesome!

does anybody have any recommendations for some good financial ones?

www.**********.com has some good app links and lists for the iphone. A few business and financial ones too if that's your thing.

the stock market app already pre-loaded is good. Also, there's one called "mixology" i think... has over 6500 drink and cocktail recipes for all occasions. Good .
