Bass/kick feedback
View this Thread in Original format

Hi, I would really love some feedback on this kick and bassline. I'm having trouble getting it to sound good. It changes alot depending on what system I play it on. It never sounds "good" on several systems. Any advice on EQ/compression is welcome. Thanks. :)

sounds alright to me
Subtle
sounds alright to me as well.
palm
too much sidechain

Sounds good to me - maybe just a tiny bit too much compression for me, but that's personal preference.

I can see Andy Moor hammering that track without a hesitation.

Out of interest, what synth did you use for the bass?

Thanks for the feedback. It's made with a Virus TI.
I thought about the sidechain compression before. If I reduce it the groove kind of dissapears. It might sem excessive when it's just the bass and kick but when it all kicks in it's not as noticable. I probably should have posted a sample with the rest of the track elements.

kick a bit too loud IMO but maybe thats the way you like it
Ravist
sounds good to me, sounds like just a pro made it ;)
Nightshift
needs more cowbell

Sounds good here too but a bit of multi band compression to tame the mid-highs just slightly while leaving the bottom end as is would probably work nicely.

Very nice sound though.

I don't like the kick (personal preference), but it's a bit too loud. Maybe just boost the bass instead of the kick?
