Hello Friends
I need some help from the Florida TA's please
Im planning a BoatCruise in Miami during wmc for March 26th or 27th.
I need to Rent some gear for the boat as its sound system cant handle
what we have planned.
I need the following gear for rent.
4 Tops/Highs with a Minimum of 800rms
2-4 Subs with alot of Power
All the Amps and Cabeling
2 Pioneer Cdj 1000's
1 xone92 mixer
2 Technique 1200's
1 Sound engineer. And someone to drop it off and Pick it up.
Can anyone recomend a good rental place in Miami around South Beach.
Im sure someone on Ta has some good rentals hookups.
All help would be really appreciated and would be rewarded :)
Thanks |

Might I suggest instead of trying to spec what you think is needed you instead give some other pertinent information. Such as the size of the room, the ceiling height, the capacity crowd you expect, the desired SPL level, A/C tie in spec, rigging capacity (if any), etc.
800rms tops and 2-4 subs sounds more or less like a guitar center speaker system and not what a professional rig for a party that people pay to go to should be like..
Just my humble opinion. (As a professional event designer). |

I don't think we're dealing with a Sasha & Digweed type of event, hence I think what he's asking for will suffice just fine. |

I think that any audio professional will tell you the same exact thing... why don't you take your question over to www.prosoundweb.com |

Yes obviously more sound is always better but the rig and sound
I need is for a 300 person boat party. It dosent have to be retardely
loud as thats not the point its not a club or a concert.
Im looking for a decent system for a small party.
Does anyone else know any other dj rentals stores or such? |

You probably need to find a production company - not a "DJ Rental company".
In order to just rent DJ gear you would more than likely have to pull liability and property insurance.
Then there is the issue that you are not a audio technician.. so a they will more than likely require a system tech to go out with the rig to make sure it is properly and safely set up and run. There is so much liability with this that I doubt the cruise ship would let you deal with this youself.
I don't care if its 1 person or 10,000 persons.. You need to use the right tools for the job. If people are buying tickets for your event you should give them the courtesy of hiring a professional to do the job right.
With that being said. PRG is an excellent company to go to.. Also try Beach Sound. |
