Earthlings.........A documentary I feel everyone should watch. (pg. 3)

so the point of the movie is we don't respect animals....no . Do I get angry when a pet is treated badly, yes. Do I care that we kill millions of chickens a year for food, no. Do I care that we use animals for entertainment, no. Do I care that wild animals are being killed, no not really however; I do believe there needs to be limits placed on numbers.

The documentary doesn't tell me anything I didn't already know and doesn't change my opinion on things. I don't care how they kill the animals...if they are meant to be killed then they are meant to be killed.

And this is where the whole problem lies IMO. Mentality of the majority needs to change.

Why does the mentality need to change? For the most part, animals that are being killed are being raised to be killed and I see no problem with that. Yes, there are still illegal killings and harming of animals going on across the globe but laws have been set up to help prevent that. The majority of people don't do illegal killings and don't harm wild animals....I would say the mentality of the minority needs to change...but you will always have some nuts in the turd.

I have to disagree to some extent. In my personal experiences, I feel I have gathered enough to say most don't care where their food comes from or care whats happening to a lot of animals. If you ask them they will most likely say some of the issues happening to animals around the world is wrong, and maybe some of the methods we obtain our food from is wrong. I do think the majority is guilty of turning a blind eye......and to me that's probably just as bad in terms of us fulfilling what I think is a social responsibility. But how many of us think about is there a better, more respectful, suffering less way to obtain our food, clothes, etc... How much of our so called necessities are necessary? do we make conscious efforts in our daily routines to be aware of some of these issues that we might be contributing to in an indirect way? Why is killing animals for entertainment, fur, an any other non resourceful manner appropriate? Are there better ways to obtain what we need without the need for animals? This is my argument, and just wanted to have a chance to show some who may find this information useful to them to help in any little way.

Im not saying we all have to stop eating meat, wearing leather, etc...., Its not going to ever happen. Im not preaching......I respect anyone's intelligent opinion. But I do honestly feel the majority is not doing as much as we probably should. I do feel we dont need to eat as much meat as we do. I feel we are lacking a respect for the other life on this planet. I thought the video was moving and informative to me......and thought others would feel the same. If you already knew these things were happening, and still dont give a rats ass, thats fine with me too.

I wasn't referring to "your comment" but thanx for watching the video. I really don't give a rats ass what you or anyone else feels or thinks. I just felt this was a well done documentary, that deserves a watch, by everyone. The "ignorant" comments/pictures in this thread (to me anyways) disappoint me especially when folks in this forum have a lot more to say on less important issues. I can tell they were made without even watching the video. I dunno, I guess I was wrong in thinking more would be moved by its message as I was.

Hey listen thanks for changing it up on here, its good that you are posting something completely different. On behalf of myself I can appreciate the message of these videos, I know humans as a whole misuse and abuse our power and domination over species for our own human consumption.

I hate to watch these videos because for me, it is far too graphic a story to tell. And in this case some things are better left unknown. This is one of them.

That said the manner with which people treat animals is all very relative to their upbringing, job, culture and worldview to name a few. I cant hunt and dont fish anymore for really a similar reason why someone made this quasi-doc. Whereas for example my father will chop the head off fish, chickens and calfs while I cant stand the sight of it.

This is all a part of his upbringing and was at one point or another a necessary part of his life. Should someone film him from a belt buckle cam they would have us all believe he is a savage.

Someone is a mechanic, a surgeon, a lawyer and an animal slaughterer. They are all very messy jobs.

thats pretty gross too.

Wild animals (i.e. lions) usually kill they prey pretty quickly. And they only kill those that they consume.
