midi problem...

for some reason if i play a C on my midi keyboard D is played in my sequence/daw and it is across all daws( playing two semitones higher) cubase, reason, ableton and even checked it on garageband as well.
i have a Mac...garageband might of giving that away....lol. You can imagine how painful this is. im more of a artist than engineer so i simply do not know how to solve this...
any help would be amazing... im all keys, so im hurting...lol

Have you tried restarting the sequencer and turning your MIDI keyboard off and on again? |

If you really can't work it out, just transpose every instrument with one click by 2 semitones in the other direction and you're fine. |

yeah i tryied this.... and im not going to transpose all intruments on every track of ever track i write thats no way to solve this but thanks for reply |

Since the same thing is happening in every daw, that should tell you that the problem is with the controller.
Sounds to me like you accidentally hit the transpose button on your midi controller(twice).
RTFM and you'll sort it out. |

Have you tried locating the transpose function on the keyboard and adjusting it? Sorry if I insulted your intelligence with my first reply, but you didn't mention anything about it, only that you tried on software, so I assumed you're unaware.
If you can't find it let us know what brand and model you have and maybe someone can help. Doubt it needs to be repaired, if you haven't tried this. |

thanks very much for ure first reply as you sent me in the right direction.... after abit of research i found out how to transpose my keyboard and the way to do it involved alot more programming than i could of done by accident so i dont know how it happen ......but it solved now. lesson learnt which is always good
