Christmas is coming around the corner and I think I'm going to ask Santa for a album/compilation of chillout stuff. :tongue2

Anyone got any recommendations of good chillout albums or compilations?

This is the kind of stuff I'm hoping to hear more of:

PETRAN
The new album by ambient-post-rock band Port-Royal "Dying In Time"... amazing music and amazing new video-clip

Also the previous two albums by Port-Royal such as "Afraid To Dance". Here is another one by the previous album...

All the albums by Ulrich Schnauss,M83, Hammock, Helios, Wisp, Boards of canada etc. etc..

And the word "chill-out" is lame. "Chill-Out" can include genres which can equal in size the whole EDM thing.
PETRAN
These are a few tracks by the amazing new Wisp album "The Shimmering Hour"...

petran, it's pointless to try to pitch something like that when he wants slow remixes of (insert trance song here)

for that kind, these have a pretty high standard:

Angels - Chill Trance Essentials 1
Angels - Chill Trance Essentials 2
Angels - Chill Trance Essentials 3

should look into the new port royal, afraid to dance had a couple REALLY moody tracks

I always liked the Café del Mar series :)

I wonder if Chicane's early albums would fit in here?

They have both dance tracks and great chill out stuff.

And that Stage One remix is a killer :)

Me too. Plus Conjure One and Delerium. I'd also second the recommendation for Ulrich Schnauss, though I'm sure that's not what the OP is looking for.

going but the op's post i'll say he may be better looking for cream chillout new and old.

Chicane defintely counts as I am an avid believer that FFTMC is the best album of the times...however...the best chill song ever that still after all the years gives me chills is simply...

However, for a new CD for Christmas, try "Happy Hour In The Gene Pool" by Evolve

Oddly enough I had never heard that before. Thank you. That's brilliant.

No problem. Hope you got to make it to the Last Supper Club for Above and Beyond last week in Seattle, it was incredible.
