I beg to differ. Without the events being listed, the oldest post on the first page is dated almost a month ago. In comparison, NYC (5 days), Cali (3 days). FLTA needs a pick-me-up and we'll see how this goes over the next month or so.
Please try to understand that either way is not going to please everyone so we'll have to work out the kinks as we go along. |

but this is not solving the initial problem. all we've done is add an extra place to place events. our events thread is better than any other here on ta. the problem was no one used it properly and placed spam in the forum making it look like crap. that spam hasnt been eliminated. its only gotten an extra place to be placed in.
there are plenty of dead forums here on ta and i would not consider fl to be one of them. check the uk, spanish, or portuguese forums. those are dead.
i understand whatever gets decided isnt going to please everyone, and if everyone disagrees with me then fine i gotta deal. hell i've already got the novevents&1 link bookmarked (thank you for that btw), but thats not what the majority of people who post here said they wanted.
i understand why you want to do it your way, im just trying to make sure you understand my point. |

in a way it is true what he says.
Although it would be great to have some events threads on ignore.. it isn't best for this forum as a whole.
Coming into Fl with Month old posts in the front page is kinda weak. The events section can drive in more traffic. SO that can be good :D |

dont give up. i agree with you for once. dont bend rules just to make the forum look active. if its an event, it goes in the event subforum. period. doesnt matter if its tiestical van dick megastar at club space or dj bbqchefmaster at hobo beach. |

you guys are acting like rules were set in place... they never were. We are lucky to have this event forum *finally*.
Let's be happy and not get too picky.
Let's see how this goes before pre bitching. |

Current Event Forum settings on TA:
Toronto/NYC/Montreal:
-Event threads NOT listed within main forum
-After event date the thread gets moved to 'Past Events' and locked - no further posting
California:
-Event threads listed within main forum
-After event date thread gets moved to 'Past Events' but NOT locked - posts are allowed (this allows for people to post reviews/pics/comments on an event after it's done (especially if it's a smaller event and they don't want to start a separate thread for it))
Florida:
-Event threads listed within main forum by DEFAULT - however, you have the choice and it will save your preferences in a cookie.
Show Event Threads in Main Forum: (YES / NO)
-After event date thread gets moved to 'Past Events' but NOT locked - posts are allowed
...................
I'll set up a link in the main florida forum somewhere where you can toggle it on/off as you see fit (so you can see if a prior event has had reviews OR can easily see at a glance what upcoming event is being most discussed). |

The TA bbq's have nothing to do wiht this so I'd appreciate that you stop mentioning it. We've already talked about this & there is no need to mention it anymore.
Swamper...
The whole point of having the subforum was to eliminate the event cluttered in the FL section.
If someone replies in an event thread in the subforum... Does the event thread get bumped in the Florida section too? If it does all of this has been a real waste of time.
If it creates a thread in the Florida it should be locked & have the link to the subforum. Just some foor for thought.
I don't mind having review threads in the flroida section.
