| I'm about to head off to college and plan on bringing my TTs with me. I need advice on what to get for cases for my tables & mixer and a crate for my vinyls (I'll have about 25-35 by the end of the summer). I don't have lots of money, and it seems a lot of this stuff is ridiculously expensive.... any suggestions? |

| You could try making your own. It would work out a hundred times cheaper. As long as your not a complete dunce when it comes to the practical and actually making them, then it shouldn’t be too hard. I’ll have a look round and see if I can find any guides to making flightcases. |

I'm going to start making my own in a few days here... I pretty much HAVE to make my own, since I have a 19" Stanton dual CD deck, and a 10" mixer, and no one makes cases for the both together... it's rackmount everything, or rackmount nothing. So I'm going to make a custom case for the deck, and then another one for my mixer. I plan on making them out of plywood sides (as light as I can get it, within reason), 1/2" by 1/2" wood frame, and 1" foam padding.
If it all works out, I'll try to take pictures and make a page for it. There have been a few people asking about custom built cases in the past few months.
As for cheaper... very much so. Plywood and foam are quite cheap. |
