December 31st, 1969 at 23:59:59 is second -1 in Unix time (or POSIX time). A lot of computer systems use the unix epoch (Jan 1st 1970) as a time reference, and all times recorded in the database are recorded as the number of seconds since the epoch.
The variable used for time on the forum must have been set to -1 briefly instead of being dynamically generated by the database's records.
