Hi all
So far vocal wise there's only a short tester section as I'm working up the lyrics before recording them properly.
Music and sound wise, could you let me know what you dont like.
Cheers

Promising start i'd say. I'm always impressed by those that can write lyrics, it's something that I suspect will always elude me ;)
There's little to critisize musically on this early render, but there's a gagging great hole where a nice reverbed, delayed, plucky arp should come in later on!
The vocals are fine melodically but I think you always have to be careful with male vocals on dance tracks or you'll get the 'omfg gay' crowd chiming up. EQ, vocoding and even some subtle.....SUBTLE autotune effects would lift it to where it needs to be.
Looking forward to the finished product. |

Ha, guess what, I had a massive plucky thang come in on the break, but I ditched it yesterday as I felt it took the track away from it's laid back proggy fee.
Now you've got me thinking.
Baring in mind the vocal will cover the main parts, were did you think the big pluck should come in? |

I know what you mean. I almost always use a pluck somewhere! The trick is bringing it in without it being too obvious and then raising the old cutoff to wind 'em all up ;)
I tend to introduce something like that in a break and then have it fire up properly in the drop. That's kind of formulaic though and your track is a bit more chilled out. I hear it more like 'hold me till the end' by DT8 in your track. |

| Hey thanks for pointing me to the dt8 track. I see what you mean about the arps. I'll try one and see how it goes. |

Take a look at other DT8/Darren Tate stuff. I think he's the best user of subtle arps/plucks out there. Dreamy stuff. |

| I like this track a lot! There's something about the drums that I can't quite put my finger on, but overall, I just like the groove and the way the sounds blend together. It's not too fancy, but makes nice use of backbeat and offbeat snares, with just the right amount of space - much more feel than I'm used to hearing from most EDM tracks these days. They combine nicely with the plucks and bass. I'd like to hear the pads a little more, though. The lyrics/vocal melody have a lot of promise, but since it sounds like they're scratch versions, I'll withhold comments until they're done! But, I do think that there's a lot space in this track to get very creative with vocal effects. Looking forward to the final version! |

Hey thanks guys.
I honestly have no idea if it's any good as I nlose all sense of judgment when I get so deep into a track and have heard it 1000 times.
This feedback is real useful.
CRYO:
Really useful feedback. I've made the track fuller, this before I'd read your feedback. This is as a result of some others saying they wannted more percs etc.
Will post up a new version soon.
TEHLORD:
I checked that track you recommended and found it real nice and a useful reference point, cheers. |

i really like the tune, but to be honest i've never really liked male vocals in trance tunes. unless they have a woman singing too (e.g. gabriel & dresden - tracking treasure down).
so my advice you be to get a female vocalist to join you :D get a nice bit of harmony in there!
but then again, i suppose it's just down to personal preference.
there's not really too much i can hear wrong with the track itself without listening to it a hundred times... but that's your job lol
good work |
