What softwares do Djs and Producers use to make music?

hey guys,
Just wondering what softwares and systems do djs and producers use to make music.
I have always wanted to try producing music and thought to myself...its now or never...want to learn about it and see how far I can go with this...
Can you guys suggest what I should do and how I should start off? What softwares to use?
Advice and direction would be great! I would highly appreciate your input.

Cubase
Fruity Loops
The most sophisticated and biggest learning curve would be Pro Tools, which is also the most expensive..
I personally use Reason, I love the interface, it's smooth, not too complicated.. it honestly looks and feels like a real studio. |
