Best (other) albums of the decade.

In lieu of J's other thread, how about we get a list of great albums of this decade that aren't EDM based, eh?
Deltron 3030 - Deltron 3030
Underground hip-hop at its finest, and remains as futuristic sounding as ever.
Ghostface Killah - Supreme Clientele
Easily Wu-of-the-Decade, and this one set his solo career flying further as his fellow Clan members started to decline.
Radiohead - Kid A
Another one of those albums that tends to exist outside a band's career, from which will never be replicated. Seemed to set off a chain of similar alt-indie-electronic rock bands throughout the '00s.
Gorillaz - Gorillaz
You could also go with the other album as well but never before (and perhaps never again) will a 'cartoon band' ever have such critical and popular appeal.
Neil Young - Live At Massey Hall '71
Perhaps a bit of a cheat since this was recorded three decades prior, but it wasn't released until just recently, and is perhaps one of the best concerts of the man during that pre-Harvest stage of his career. Remarkable how much emotion comes through with nothing more than an acoustic guitar, a grand piano, and his own voice.
Hm. I just noticed most of my choices comes from around 2000. Surely there's been other great releases since? Tell us yours! |

Thom Yorke - The Eraser
Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand
Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam
The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute
Depeche Mode - Playing The Angel
Art Brut - Bang Bang Rock & Roll
Some of them are electronic, or feature extensive usage of electronic instruments, but I don't see them as electronic music albums. |
