Avenger - Music Box EP [Nu-Depth]

With great excitement we are proud to present the stunning ep from Polkotuwage Lalindra Sanjeewa Chandrasiri, better known on the trance circuit as Avenger. With work on labels such as A State of Trance, Mondo and Red Force we welcome this rising producer to the nu-depth ranks with open arms.
Starting us off is the title of the ep, 'Music Box'. This is a solid uplifting number with a great piano in the break. Add some wonderful melodies to the track with a distinctive riff after it drops and we have a killer track to start the release. This is trance music at its finest.
'Synth Reality' starts off very aggressive with some dark effects and squelchy acid sounds, don't let this fool you though as it isn't long before the melody and riff in the track take over taking this to another level. This is chord work of the highest quality that peaks to a massive climax in the break. Emotions will run riot when this is let loose on the dancefloor!
Finishing this release off is 'Existence'. Again this starts off very dark and tense with plenty of atmospheric surroundings before the uplifting elements of the track take over. The melody and pads come into play giving it a balearic edge and really settles the track down nicely. This isn't as peak time as the other two tracks on the ep but it is still very much up there in terms of quality.
All three tracks will certainly raise a few smiles on the floor; we can guarantee that for sure!!!
Review
Right off the bat I must say how happy I am to see these songs being released as I have been a huge fan of them over the past few months. Music Box is one hell of a tune! The amazing intro brings back memories of hearing it non-stop earlier in the year, this is one of my favorite tunes of the year right here. The beautiful pads and piano tease in the background till the break comes full song and truly makes for one breathtaking song. An amazing song that deserves full marks.
Next up is Synth Reality. Played on A State of Trance recently this song has made quite an impression on the trance massive in recent weeks. Much darker then Music Box, this tune is geared more for the peak time sets and boy does it deliver. I love the way that Sammie shows how much he has learned production wise as he makes this song a journey that you wish will never end. The chords are truly remarkable and harken back to the days trance was much simpler and beautiful. Two out of two here!
Played on Trance Around The World, Existence is a perfect end for the EP. A different approach is used here as the song is alot more mellow and lets Avenger's outstanding layers of production take over with a breathtaking melody that shows he means business. One for a set where anything goes!
