I got rid of my technics and mixer in 2006. I've regreted it here and there but don't really miss it too much. I feel much much better with 2 keyboards and Ableton.
And I totally agree with you about the scene and how it's downgraded. I've actually considered selling EVERYTHING music-related that I have considering I don't really have time for much. I'm considering grad school in two years and may start my own business next year, depending on the market, so I'll DEFINITELY have no time to play on my keyboards.
Then again, on the real side of things, the more money I make in this already screwed up economy, the happier I am. :o
