Fantastic music here. Although I think I might be able to only ID one track haha.
That first track is fantastic. My attention started drifting around the 3/4 part but then it definitely picked up towards the end. I'd love to know that last track. |
Yeah, this about sums up my thoughts. The first half is really good but in the second half (near the 35 minute mark) there is a repetitive and mind numbingly boring track that stretches for nearly ten minutes. I lost interest here but the end isn't bad.
Anyone know the song at approx. 7:00? |

I was @ Matter for this gig, Danny did a monster warm-up. Looking forward for the 2nd part as well! Certainly J.D. will offer 1 or 2 hours of his set in the next months. |
I disagree. Danny was a real letdown, especially if you compare this to what he plays during an all nighter.
And Digweed was utter . Matter is a club too, I'm sure you'll agree to that. |

I wasn't there, so I can't really relate ... but do you know the purpose of a warm-up? And what (and what not) has to be done during the warm-up?

Dude, I'm one of the few people that stay in the club from the first to the very last beat everytime I go out. I know how a good warmup sounds and Howells didn't sound like that at all. |

alrighty so i read the guys comment directly above me thinking to myself...."too bad he wasn't able to feel what the majority of this thread feels"
I'm listening to this set thinking its absolutely incredible. Danny Howells is clearly #1 when it comes to playing an opening set and building on that opening set flawlessly into a peak time set. Not that many people out there can do it as elegantly & intelligently as Danny Howells.
Can't wait to hear part two! |

Are you the one who sets the standard of what good or bad then? Just because you didn't enjoy it it doesn't mean others didn't. You want to get over yourself. |

You may want to reconsider your criteria of how good this warmup set is when you're actually not listening to it in context.
4 pm with headphones in your office or in the car on your way to work
IS NOT
Warmup set before John Digweed playing all night long at Matter.
Don't get me wrong I like Howells, but he was just plain boring except for when he played This Feeling. |
