Great mix oscar
I was listening to it today on mY way to SF :)
I think of all your mixes this one has the best flow among all, first 20 mminutes were so ing smooth.
I really diged how it all built up to "the organ the hope " , what a tune !!! I know its 13 minute long track but it certainly skull s you !! and then when you dropped "carnivores " to give a release to the whole intensity of the mix made it even more brilliant on how well it was programed .
def. your best mix so far bud , i'm keeping this one fo sho' .... keep it up :p |
Thanks for listening dude, glad you liked it. :)
"The Organ The Hope" and "Carnivores" are two of my favorite tunes of 2009. There's a gargantuan quality to both of them but each in a different way and they mix so well together.

I listened to this on my sister's laptop last night, though I had that hooked up to a better pair of speakers so it wasn't bad.
I had to do that since this mix didn't work on my computer (Oscar's). I even uploaded both this and Bas' mix to my MP3 player, but only the latter made it.
Anyway, good man. A little drier and more skeletal than your previous mixes, but this one still had plenty of groove. Mixing was really smooth and the programming was spot on. As Haziel wrote, the effect of building up to The Organ The Hope was quite nice, followed by Carnivores, which diffused some of that energy. Then it ended on an upbeat and funky note with the last track.
My only complaint is that you should have maybe been a bit more sensitive with the EQs earlier on. I noticed some clipping when I played it really loud and it sounded like maybe a bit too much low end was being fed through both channels that were playing (this was during some of the transitions). Nothing too bad, but I like to play music pretty loud if I can, so I had to turn this one down a little.

Thanks for listening Adam, there's definitely something to be done about the encoding of my mixes. Too many people have been mentioning that it doesn't play on their computers. It's weird because I always record to WAV and then use iTunes to encode it to 320kbps MP3 and people didn't seem to be having any problems until 2 or 3 mixes ago. I'll encode it again from WAV to MP3 using another software so you can load it on your mp3 player :p
And check your PMs ;) |

oscar do you wanna try soundforge for re-encoding? i could probably send that your way sometime today.. you will never use any other audio editing software again.
anyways so far i've only gotten through bas' mix- it's ing sexy. bas i like how you improved your erotic edit.. sound much cleaner and slightly different from your original incarnation.. very nice. and your mixing was great, fantastic tracks.. there's really nothing bad i can say about it.
oscar, yours is next on the list. :p |

Thanks man :D
Yeah I didn't cahnge too much of it, really...a lot of the EQing was done on the mixer. Once I heard it out of proper speakers I knew what needed to get fixed. Still have to fix the master. |

Listened to both of these and they were great, nice work the both of you. Bas, I particularly liked your set, some really great chunky-funky house, mixed superbly. I've been getting more into that type of sound as of late, so I found it especially appealing. That edit you started things off with was yours, correct? Really liked that.
Woscar your set was solid as usual, excellent flow and spot on in the mixing department. The section from Safety Meetings into Connie Shake really won me over. Keep em coming. :) |
