| ok, so im new to ableton, and im trying to draw in some automation, but how to i draw a straight line? |

| Are you serious? Draw a point, then draw another point. The line between them will be straight. If you want it to be flat, then make sure both of your points are at the same dB. |

Click on two areas, then get out of draw mode. Delete all the points but two. Now move these around until you get what you want. Hey presto, a result. |

Well, I edited my post if you notice. And you should only to have to click 2 times, not 4. |

| By the way, if you double click on the red line it will set points without needing to go into draw mode. |

Grab it (or ctrl + grab it), hit Tab and put it where you want it.
Oh and learn to do automation in arrangement. Doing it in session view gets annoying ;) |

click on the clip you want automation on then move the knob etc sylenth cuttoff or what you want to automate it should then appear in the little white rectangle boxes in the evelope section to the bottom left of the screen then draw the automation in that time selection screen to right of the screen ,if this dont make sense ill try to explain it better. |
