I managed to find time to make a 'best of' this year,but as always,it is a case of - trying not to forget certain tacks - rather than having a free for all and getting over enthusiastic with the amount,one can include on a 80 minute set !
Having said that i almost got it spot on,with just a couple of tracks that i either realized,afterwards,i had failed to include....eg Paul Van Dyks - home & Dash Berlins - man on the run or tracks i had to leave out of the running order,due to time restraints.Nethertheless im fairly happy with the end result.
Female vocal tracks prove the most popular,with Roger Shah produced tracks very prominent with his Magic Island label featuring heavily.Its pretty much impossible to give a 'best track award' so in no particular order,here are my favourite few,although PVD's - home should have be among them,if featured.
Robert Vadney - black clown......very strange subject matter,but very sad & emotional lyrics
Ralph Fritch - phoenix.....great piano/guitar chilled breakdown,with distant children playing,shouting.
Estiva - lifting leaves.......yet another melodic brilliant track from the talented Dutchman
Dash Berlin - waiting......even the remixes of this are great,mainly thancks to the vocals
Savannah - body lotion.....more heroics from Mr Shah |

This gives a great snapshot of all that is good about EDM . Would love to have heard the full versions .Now, if you were to split the set into 3 full version mixes ...
Your taste in tunage is very agreeable .Really enjoyed your work. |

| Mr Sansider ....i would have prefered to have done at least a double CD,as it was no picnic,editing this down to 80 min,but i have too many time restraints...eg A Pregnant Wife/60 hour working week/trying to work on Episode 250 'classics double CD' + trying to lead a normal life ! Thanx for the comment,though. Hope you have a good Xmas,up there North of the border. |
