I was gonna say "he ran out of meds" but... who knows. He seems like the kind of weirdo that would have his junk pierced to .
though.. I loved first Pretty Hate Machine from start to finish. The rest was mostly .
oh, and in comparison - I think Trent sold an equivalent of a time share in a run-down hotel in a heart of hard-core Mexican barrio of his soul to devil, in comparison to the dibs Beelzebub got on a french riviera or hamptons-equivalent primo real estate of souls of Deadmau5 or Tiesto.

Yeah, Pretty Hate Machine definitely has a certain charm to it:

for me the Downward spiral was the best album of NIN all the way

Understandable. That and Further Down The Spiral are ing astounding.
Though I still think 99's The Fragile was technically a better album. There was far more rich instrumentation and depth in terms of both lyrics and his programming. It's not quite as accessible as TDS in my opinion, but some would differ.

All three are brilliant, IMO. However, every time I listen to Pretty Hate Machine I'm always extra amazed by the fact that it was made in 1989. :wtf:

I agree hal , The Fragile is by far his most elaborate album , very rich indeed but i do consider that there are some tracks on cd 2 that are meh .. which doesn't take away the brilliance of the whole album , Trent did a risky thing on putting out a double cd album , another reason why i respect the man .
As of DWS I just think that for that time that is... 1994 when DWS came out , the sound trent brought was ahead of its time ...groundbreaking on all its fronts .

Even more so on Pretty Hate Machine :p
But I agree, Trent Reznor has been way ahead of his time pretty much during his entire career.
