You are right. All new released are 256 AAC. A lot of older releases are 128 AAC though. (Yes, this is true, they sell or did sell 128 kbits :p) |

You can't even play iTunes stuff in Traktor, it's a pretty fat pain in the ass :o |

if you burn em to cd it works fine in cdjs right? |

Yeah of course. Although I think you may have to burn them in iTunes...however you can still rip them off the cd and they'll be WAV. |

I think what Apple was attempting to do was create a file that had decent cd quality with really high compression and DRM capability. The result is that you can only play the songs in iTunes or an iPod but can still burn it to a regular cd. |

| 256kbps AAC should theoretically sound better (read, more transparent) than the older MP3 tech at the same bitrate. Whether you'll be able to actually hear the difference or not is another story. ;) |
