Hey,
I just bought Cubase 5 and everything is working fine from the upgrade from sx3..However, MMy waves plugins wont show up in the software. The parametric EQs are showing up in Cubase but none of the compressors or other effects...Anyone know how I can get these VSTs to start up in Cubase?
ps I have added the waves directory to the VST folder so the .dll files are in a place that cubase is scanning...I think its a Direct X issue coz in Cubase SX3 I used to have a window called 'direct x' in the effects menu where all the waves plugins were stored.
please help if you can |

| That's correct. As of cubase 4 the support for directx plugins was dropped if I recall correctly. |

Hi,
Its not that they don't support Waves plug-ins, they don't support any DX plug-ins.
You need to use a wrapper and remember, even when using a wrapper if you have any projects you wish to open in Cubase 4 with DX plug-ins used you will loose ALL settings.
Steinberg & SOS recommended wrapper

And i agree with the above poster, WAVES should make their plug-ins available as VST especially for the money you pay for them (if you paid for them at all that is) |

| with this software, wrapper, is it possible to have the DX effects wherever you want in Cubase? for instance i might want an l2 on drum track and c4 on a different track..is this possible? or is wrapper like a channel strip and you only load effects on the one strip? |

Yo,
I presume you load the wrapper like an effect anywhere than add your DX effect to it, so you can use it as inserts, sends etc.
Check their website for more info. |

Remember to also go into preferences are rescan your plugins and/or make sure they are ticked and allowed to be viewed.
At least you can hope it's that, otherwise the DX issue is far worse :( |
