Probably because there's an underlying current of THE DANGERS OF CLUBBING to this story. If this kind of thing happens to twelve young people every week, why is this story in the news?

That said, I read this story a few weeks back about a kid that suffered a heart attack from drinking a cold glass of water that affected his heartbeat. Don't remember if he died or not.

for newsworthiness i suppose. it's more implying that he was young than anything, for sake of the bizarre. not too many young students die of heart attacks.
