It's got a lot of great information. There's a DVD to go along with it that has audio examples of techniques and tools. There's very little fluff here, it's to the point so there is a lot to read. Once you are done reading it you should have a much better understanding of effects and mixing tools. At the end he has 4 example mixes and tells you what he did to them in the mixing process. Still have not gone through those yet. He also gives some insight into the difference between a pro and a am.

| Sounds great. I know there isn't (there can't be) a recipe for fx engineering. There is still tons that I (and probably everybody else here) can learn about audio. I've only read from front to back 2 books in my life, so to say I hate books would be an understatement, but for some reason I can't wait for this to get here. I think it's because I feel like I've hit a wall. Just havn't been learning as much lately as I was before, and I don't like it! I want to learn more, damnit. |
