Yeah, it's another one of those. But looking out the window and seeing kids play in the snow, remembering all the fun I used to do when it snowed, being all excited for it when I was a kid...

Same thoughts crossed my mind when the snow started comin' down yesterday. More specifically remembering a time when just seeing it snow was exciting.

Yesterday I saw it and thought, "I have to make a 10+ mile trip today on foot + subway and ALL of my sneakers and shoes have holes in them FML"

It's pretty much the general nature of children, being not corrupted and all, to be able to appreciate the full beauty/excitement/fun in just about everything. As adults I think most of us spend our whole lives trying to get that back by constantly seeking new sensations/trying to experience new things i.e. traveling around the world, skydiving, drugs, partying, and other hobbies including having and raising children of your own at some point.

It's important to try and accept the stage you're in in life though (i.e. not being a kid anymore), and focus on all of the awesome things about being an adult despite all the BS. If that doesn't work well lol... working with young children is pretty cathartic. Every time I've gotten a job working with kids I always start out thinking I'll hate it, but their simplicity going about life and non-cynical attitudes end up sticking with me for a time.

You know what this thread inspired me to do?
I took an evening walk and when I went over this footbridge I made snowballs and threw them onto the cars driving by underneath. :haha:

Lol, I know it can be very dangerous and I shouldn't do that, but I felt like acting like a kid, and it is your thread's fault!

Being a child was . You're older, wiser, richer and know what sex is. There's absolutely nothing stopping you from playing in the snow, so live your life to the full and stop absconding into an imagined past you stick.
