Reset Robot is a relatively new name that will be increasingly familiar to fans of dubbed-out and moody tech house. Having released a string of well-received tracks on key labels in 2009 including Sci+Tec, 100% Pure, Excentric Muzik, 8 Sided Dice the time has come to take the next step and launch Reset Robot’s own label, Roomba Music.
The Reset Robot story is spectacular. Having circulated tracks amongst close DJ friends word of mouth spread to such an extent that Dubfire boldly signed a staggering five tracks to his Sci+Tec label. From here onwards Reset Robot’s energetic fusion of dubbed-out grooves and warm, soulful tech house has been in high demand.
Tu Cheekah is a floor-burning bomb. Sultry and hypnotic, groovy and industrial, subtle yet in-your-face; it is a tough ask to pick which element of this booming wigged out brilliance hooks you in the most.
NW1 shows the other end of the Reset Robot spectrum with a dark, stripped back never-ending tribal groove and warped futuristic atmospherics that give off a late night twisted vibe with energy to burn.
