FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AREA EVENT RETURNS TO NYC
WORLD CLASS TALENT, BEAUTIFUL REVELERS
AT THE NEWLY RENOVATED M2 ULTRALOUNGE

(New York, NY—January 5, 2010) AREA, the brand new weekly party, kicks off Friday, January 22, 2010 in New York City. The grand opening will feature the best in electronic music as well as head-turning partygoers in a luxurious mega-club setting, M2 UltraLounge at 530 West 28th Street, NYC. Area Event, the company behind this weekly party, is famous for its record-breaking, rafter-rattling electronic dance music performances for thousand-plus crowds from Vegas to Miami, but on January 22, the party will return to NYC. Doors open from 10:00PM to late.

The newly renovated M2 UltraLounge is the place to see and be seen in NYC. Area Event will be removing most of the furniture from its swanky dance-floor to showcase Area’s legendary heart-stopping sound and dance experience. The top-tier talent—Roger Sanchez, Sebastian Ingrosso, local residents DJ Alex Pearce and Cristian Arango—is just half of the equation; it’s the party people that make Area an unforgettable night.

Hardcore clubheads know NYC nightlife isn’t what it used to be, but Area with its cutting edge house music selection and commitment to the very best nightclub experience, is breathing new life into the scene. Hypnotizing dance music provided by big name talent along with local heroes, sprinkled with a few surprises, Area promises to deliver all that and more each and every Friday. Some weeks will also showcase lavish theme parties, beginning with the Big Red One on February 12.

This is awesome.
But can you do anything about the ridiculous drink prices?
$19 for a gin and tonic is a bit crazy. :)

agreed. I dont even mind dropping a little extra cash for a cocktail, but I know everytime I go to M2, I am pre-gaming and drinking *TOPS* one drink at the bar. Why would a drink with one shot in it cost the same as 3/4 of the bottle retail price?

a friend of mine went to boris for new years, she said
vodka & cranberry was 12 bucks
long island ice tea was 16 bucks

you would think that since they are moving all of the tables and couches out and steering away from the bottle crowd that they would lower their prices a lil bit to welcome the more danceing/clubber crowd

Those prices are rediculous.

I'm a beer drinker so I would expect to py like $8 a beer?
Its funny cause with my b-day being Jan 21st, I would def consider going to see Roger Sanchez. He ripped it at EZ. And the previous time I heard him in miami at the Surfcomber closing party in 2008 he was rediculous too.

BUT with those drink prices, I doubt I'm willing to subject my friends and myself to it.

iam not too sure about beer prices, but yea i wouldnt doubt it that they are overpriced as well
best bet is to pre-game hardcore before you go there

Actually man, LI Tea for $16 is not that bad! It's $15 at Pacha for an LI tea, so it's not that much off :)
It's the crazy like I said before, $18-19 for a BASIC mixed drink that is out of this world!

Beers are $8 when I last went on Halloween.

I'll still be going regardless because Roger is very consistent with tearing the place apart, just gotta pregame extra like you said :)
